How I Spent My Time
As an adult, far removed from the situation, I understand some of Kay’s confusing actions and reactions to me. She would switch from hot to cold in the blink of an eye. I am only guessing, as we have never discussed it, that she was also struggling with feelings that conflicted the religion’s allowances. One day, she would talk and joke as we worked together. Any other day, we would work together eight hours or longer without a single word, or even harsh words. While I respect her right to believe in whatever religion she wants to, she can tend to be a bit self-righteous. (A trait that belonged to many members of that group).
Suddenly, I was garnering attention from young men in the congregation. At one point, I had five men seeking men out to discuss dating. Feeding into my self diagnosed savior syndrome, I chose the man that I could help and save. There will be plenty more detail on that in future stories.
I will skip ahead ten years. My marriage has many stories that will be tackled in future pages.
